Now that you know about a few of the illnesses that CBD can help with, let's jump into how much CBD you should be taking to get the proper dosage for these ailments.

Consult Your Doctor

Just like before taking any new supplement or medicine it is very important to first consult your doctor or trained medical professional. They can provide you with information specific to your medical condition and also ensure there will be no complication with any current medications you are taking or other medical conditions you might have. It is also important to know that the information in this guide should not be considered medical advice.

Unfortunately, CBD is still categorized as a "natural remedy" by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and thus there is not much scientific data to suggest optimal CBD dosages. This does not mean that CBD doesn't work, just simply that the scientific and medical communities are not caught up to date about the benefits of CBD.

Because the FDA has not set a Recommended Daily Intake yet there is no official serving size for CBD. This leaves consumers blindly estimating their dosages based on recommendations from friends and brands. There are a lot of important factors to consider when trying different dosages.

  • The concentration of CBD
  • The weight of the individual
  • The person's diet
  • Your CBD tolerance levels
  • The individual’s body chemistry
  • The severity of the condition being treated

There is not a one dose cures all dosage, and it will take you some trial and error to find what works best for you. So how much CBD should you take? Use the three easy steps below to find out!

How Much CBD You Should Take

1) Estimate your dosage based on your body weight

Just like when taking most medications or vitamins, people with a higher BMI will require more cannabidiol to experience the full effects. Keeping that in mind a good way to determine the best CBD dosage is to take 1-6mg of CBD for every 10 pounds of body weight and the level of pain or illness you have.

For instance, 20mg-35mg would be a good place to start for someone that weighs 200lbs, whereas someone that is only 150lbs would start at 15mg-25mg

CBD Dosage Based on Weight

CBD Dosage Calculator

Most CBD Oil products will have a different dosage amount and different percentage of CBD per dose. No worries, all it takes is some simple math to find the right dosage for you. Here is how it works.

First, read the label on the CBD product you have and find the suggested serving size. It most likely says something like Serving Size: X Drops or X Gummies

The label should also include the amount of CBD per serving. Once you have that information you can use this CBD Calculator to find the dose that's right for you. To make it super easy for you, we will walk you through a sample dosage calculation.

Serving Size: 5 drops

Amount of CBD per serving: 25mg

With that information, we can calculate the following dosage.

5 drops = 25mg of CBD

So let's pretend you weight 180 lbs and have mild pain. According to the chart above your starting dosage would be about 18mg.

25mg CBD/5 drops = 5mg of CBD per drop!

So in this instance, each drop of CBD Oil has 5mg of CBD

Now going with the starting dose of 18mg you can divide it by 5 to find out how many drops you need.

18 divided by 5 = 3.6 mg per drop.

So to get an 18mg dosage you would need 3.6 drops. It may be hard to get a .6 drop so you can round that up to 4 drops for a total dosage of 20mg of CBD.

To summarize this all you need to do to calculate your CBD dosage is:

1. Find the serving size of your CBD product

2. Find the MG of CBD per serving size

3. Determine your recommended starting dose based on your weight

4. Do some simple math

And that's it! No complicated math or fancy tools needed. This simple formula can be used for CBD oil or CBD Gummies.

2) Start small and increase gradually

Just like any medicine, the least amount needed to get relief the better. We recommend starting at the smallest dosage and increase slowly until you experience relief. Try the same dosage for about three days and give your body time to reach. If you feel no relief adjust the dosage slightly for another few days until you experience the effects. If you ever feel any discomfort from your dosage decrease your dosage immediately.

It's important to remember that everyone is different so what might work for your friend might not work for you.

3) Ask your doctor

If you have any doubts about taking CBD or your CBD dosage it is always best to ask your doctor especially if you have any existing medical conditions or take any medication. While a lot of doctors may not be experts on CBD they should be able to tell you how you might react to CBD and give you their professional opinion if its a good option for you.

The Most Accurate Way To Dose CBD

If you are looking for a foolproof easy way to take a precise amount of CBD daily, the best option is CBD Capsules.

CBD Capsules are filled with a precise amount of CBD and provide you with an accurate way to dosage your CBD. If your recommended dose is 16-25mg then buy a bottle of capsules that are 20mg or 25mg each and you are all set. This makes taking a daily dose of CBD super easy, precise and tasteless!

Other methods of consumption such as CBD Gummies are accurate as well because each candy contains an exact amount of CBD.
